Sarah Handelman is Director of Drawing Matter, a collection of architectural drawings spanning the sixteenth century to the present day, as well as a forum for thinking about, expressing and making architecture – through publishing projects, exhibitions and educational activities. Prior to joining Drawing Matter she was Deputy Editor of RA magazine, and an editor at the Architectural Association, where she worked on numerous publications including the scholarly journal AA Files.

She has also served as Online Editor of The New Inquiry, lectured in design cultures and research methods at the London College of Communication and presented her own research on postwar visual culture in America. She occasionally takes on independent projects that range from copywriting and book editing to editorial consultancy for organisations and practices including the University of the Arts, Visual Editions, Tate, the New Art Trust, the British Council, OFFICE KGDVS and 6a architects.
